If you experiencing issues publishing to Facebook, here are troubleshooting tips.

Before Troubleshooting, Please Confirm:

  • You have permission to publish to Facebook on your user account. Please contact your organization administrator or OnSpot Customer Success Manager if you need help with user permissions.

  • You have followed all onboarding steps for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) publishing, including accepting the custom audience Terms & Conditions for the specific business & ads manager accounts you are attempting to publish to.

If You Receive This Error Message:

Navigate to the publish screen, select "Facebook" in the "Publish to" drop down, and click "Disconnect from Facebook"

Next, click "Connect to Facebook"

Note: Make sure you have any pop-up or ad blockers disabled on your browser.

A pop-up window will open. Click "Reconnect" in the bottom right of the pop-up.

If Your Ad Account is not Showing up in the Drop Down Menu:

Navigate to the publish screen, select "Facebook" in the "Publish to" drop down, and click "Disconnect from Facebook"

Next, click "Connect to Facebook"

Note: Make sure you have any pop-up or ad blockers disabled on your browser.

A pop-up window will open. Click "Edit previous settings" in the middle of the pop-up.

Select "Opt-in to all current and future Businesses" and then "Continue"

Click "Save"

Click "Got it"

You should now see all applicable ad accounts in the drop down menu. Still having trouble? Make sure you have accepted the custom audience Terms & Conditions for the new Business and Ads Manager accounts using these steps.

If Your Facebook Publish Jobs Are Red (Have Failed):

Check your Meta Ads Manager Audience Library and confirm that you have less than 500 custom audiences in your library. Facebook will suspend publishing once you have exceeded more than 500 custom audiences. Delete inactive audiences and re-publish.

Or, re-authenticate your login by "Disconnecting" and "Reconnecting" per the instructions above.

Please reach out to your Customer Success manager for additional assistance troubleshooting Facebook publishing issues.
