Setting up your white label domain

Learn how to set up your domain or subdomain for white label access to our platform.

Getting set up as a white-label is easy! Before we do anything on our end, you'll need to make some changes to your domain's DNS settings.

We strongly recommend not using your root-level domain (e.g. mycompany.com) as your white-label domain. It's better to use something with a subdomain, such as app.mycompany.com, portal.mycompany.com, etc.

Easy Version (you have a dedicated IT person)

If you have an IT person or department, just ask them to create a new subdomain (e.g. app.mycompany.com) and set up a CNAME record to point to onspot-v2.netlify.com.

app.mycompany.com CNAME onspot-v2.netlify.com.

(there may be a period at the end of our domain name—that's OK)

Although it's not recommended, you can also just point a domain like mycompany.com to our web application. The procedure is the same as above, but if your IT person says it won't work and asks for an IP address, then have them create an "A" record pointing to 104.198.14.52:

mycompany.com A 104.198.14.52

Not-as-Easy Version (DIY)

If you read the easy version above, you will basically be doing this yourself. Don't sweat it, it's not that bad! Depending on who your domain provider is, they have instructions on how to create and edit DNS records:

Essentially the process is the same no matter who your domain is hosted with. If your domain is mycompany.com, you would create a new CNAME record with a name of "app", and a value of "onspot-v2.netlify.com".

Verifying DNS Propagation

Once you've taken care of adding the proper DNS record, you'll want to make sure it propagates (takes effect across the entire Internet—or most of it, at least!). You can do so by using a free tool like MX Toolbox. Just enter your subdomain name that you chose as your white-label, and you should see something like this:

If you do see that, you're set up! If not, keep checking back every six to eight hours or so.

What's Next?

Once your DNS changes have propagated, get in touch with us and we'll set up your white-label account in our platform.

Publishing to Facebook

If you plan to publish to Facebook out of the white label platform, please let your support team member know so that we can configure your custom domain settings with our Facebook integration.
