Getting Started

This process details how to accept custom audiences published by OnSpot and shared to your Meta Ads Manager Account.

Note that you must have an executed Data-Only Insertion Order with OnSpot prior to receiving the audience, and have accepted the Meta custom audience Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) on both your Business Manager and Ads Manager Account before proceeding. If you need assistance accepting the T&Cs, please reach out to your OnSpot Sales and/or Support team contact.

If your organization has a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with OnSpot and you have user accounts in the platform, please follow these steps for publishing to Meta instead.

Confirm Audience Share with OnSpot Sales & Support

Once the audience(s) have been shared with you, you should receive an email from our Sales & Support teams.

Navigate to Audience Library in Meta

This can be accessed in a couple of different ways.

From Meta Business Suite:

Click on "All Tools" on the bottom of the left-hand menu and then scroll down to "Audiences"

From Meta Ads Manager

Click on "All Tools" at the top of the left-hand menu and then select "Audiences"

Accept Shared Audience Responsibilities

Once you've navigated to the audiences page, you will see a "locked" audience at the top of the list with an "Accept Responsibilities" button. Click "Accept Responsibilities."

You will then be taken to a popup screen. Click "I Accept" on the Shared audience responsibilities & agreement."

You should then see a "Partnership request accepted" message.

Now, you are ready to use this audience in an ad campaign on Meta/Facebook/Instagram.

Troubleshooting Tips

You do not see any audiences in your library.

Confirm an administrator of your team has accepted the Meta Custom Audience Terms and Conditions (T&Cs).

  1. Accept custom audience terms for the Meta Business Account

    1. Copy and paste the below URL into notepad or other text editor application: https://facebook.com/ads/manage/customaudiences/tos/?business_id={ENTERACCOUNTID}

      *Replace {ENTERACCOUNTID} with your business account id (removing the brackets) and enter the edited URL into a web browser. Follow the on-screen prompts to accept the terms.

  2. Accept custom audience terms for a single Meta Ad account.

    1. Copy and paste the below URL into notepad or other text editor applicaiton: https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/customaudiences/tos/?act={ENTERACCOUNTID}

      *Replace {ENTERACCOUNTID} with your ad account id (removing the brackets) and enter the edited URL into a web browser. Follow the on-screen prompts to accept the terms.

You do not see the blue "Accept Responsibilities" button next to the shared audience.

It is likely that this is a newer Meta Ads Manager account and you are not yet able to use custom audiences. You may see this message:

Run a small amount of media spend using Meta's built-in targeting for several weeks. This should lift the restriction.
